Life put Javed Choudhari’s willpower to test. But he did not fall apart. He chose not to be the victim but the “victor”. Going through the tough times of his life, he discovered his inner strength. He stood strong in all the trials and tribulations. Even after facing hardships in his life, he worked hard and welcomed the better days for himself and his family. Narrating his life journey, he says,
“Main ek gareeb family se belong karta tha. Hamari joint family hai jisme se koi bhi educated nahi tha. Koi kisan tha, koi driver ki job ya majduri karta tha . Mere papa ka dream tha ki wo education nahi le paye but apne bachon ko jarur education denge and IAS Officer bnayenge. He did that. Main hamare khaandan me pehla banda tha jisne science mein 12th complete ki thi and graduation ke liye jo bade sheher mein gya tha. Mere mohalle ke log mujhe dekh kr apne bachon ko education dene lage and mujhse puchte the ki unke bacho se kya karwana hai. Mere ghar ke members ki hi nahi, sab ki umeed mujhse judi thi.
Maine jab college mein gya, mera interest dance tha. Maine university mein gold liya. Wahan apne khudke dance classes start kr diye and modeling bhi krne lga. 3rd year mein, Ramzan ka mahina tha aur roje chal rahe the. So mummy ke bulane par main ghar chala gaya and 10 din bad mera accident ho gaya. Accident jb hua tb mere sath mera ek dost tha. Hum wahin road side mein the but koi madat ke liye nahi aa raha tha. Tab maine pehla call mere chhote bhai ko kiya. Usne receive nahi kiya toh mere papa, friend and ambulance ko call kiya.
Main ghar se 13 km door tha so mujh tk ambulance ko pohonchne mein 45 -60 minutes lg gaye.
But main jahan rehta hun uss area me koi acha hospital nahi tha. Mera accident 3:40 pm ke kareeb hua. Bade hospital pohonchne mein 10 pm ho gaye. Unhone kisi aur hospital ka address diya jo 220 km door tha. Wahan jane mein morning ke 7 am ho gaye. Tab tak meri bleeding chal rahi thi aur without kisi anaesthesia main chalta raha. Finally rat ke 9:30 meri surgery start ki and amputation kr diya above knee.
But asli problem ab start hui thi. Sab ka haal bahot bura tha. Jispe umeed thi wahi handicap ho gya tha. Pehle toh mujhe samajh hi nahi aaya ki ab main kaise jiyunga but agar tab main haar maan leta toh meri family nahi jee pati. Maine himmat nahi haari. Mere friends jb mujhse milne ate hospital toh wo sochte the ki uske samne kaise jau but jb wo aate toh main unke sath masti karta tha. Unhe hasata tha. Finally 15 din baad main ghar aya toh sb ro rahe the. Sab himmat haar chuke the. Papa ne bhi socha ki ab kuch nahi hone wala. Jb mujhse milne koi aata tha toh kehta tha ki sone jaisa bacha mitti ho gaya. Toh mere papa rote the.
Shuru mein kafi mushkil lga par mann mein kuch bada karne ki ichcha thi. Mehnat aur koshish ki aur June 2016 mein maine Wheelchair National Technical Camp, Hyderabad mein participate kiya. September 2016 mein Delhi state wheelchair basketball championship mein gya aur gold medal jeeta. Mujhe Delhi state team ka captain select kiya gya. November 2016 mein Delhi State Team ka Captain ban ke National Tournament khela. April 2017 mein maine Maharashtra State Swimming Championship mein 3 bronze medals jeete aur mujhe National Tournament ke liye select kiya gya. June 2017 mein main Australian coach Mr. Brad Ness ke under national level camp ke liye select hua. Yahan main India ke top 13 players mein shortlist hua.
Dancing mera passion hai, so main free dance classes conduct krta hun. Mere 4 schools hain aur 300 se upar students mujhse dance seekhte hain. Ab mere papa ke pass sabke liye ek answer hai ki ‘nahi aaj bhi mera beta sona hi hai.’ “
Even in the rough path of his life, Javed walked with his chin up and did not forget to smile. His life changed when he changed his attitude towards life and learnt to live in acceptance with the will of God.
